Commission or Sponsor-paid
We currently hold information on hundreds of clubs, events and associations but we need more. If your club needs more sponsorship then you need to complete the club information form and return it to us by e-mail. If we are looking for a club in your area either for a local sponsor or a business that has given us a particular demograhpic brief the more we know about you the better. It may be that one day we contact you with a potential sponsor and depending upon a variety of factors (appeal of the club, responsibilities etc) you could gain new revenue. This costs you nothing!
We take a commission from the money that the sponsor provides or, in other cases, the sponsoring firm pays us a fee for the work we do. Either way the figure we suggest to you is the net amount payable to the club.
Club Retainer
In a limited number of cases we act for a club or event exclusively in its geographical area. Our resources are not limitless so we can't guarantee to help every club we meet. We are currently retained by 20 clubs, from a variety of sports, to find sponsors for them. The charge for this is a one off payment of £1,000 for 12 months. Once we find sponsors for the club the same commission system kicks in as previously described. This system guarantees that we work for your club in preference to others and, in the unlikely event of us not increasing your sponsorship income by £1,000, we repay your investment after 12 months.
Up Front Payment to the Club
In certain circumstances we become sponsors of your club ourselves. We pay between £500 and £1,000 to the club in return for the rights to promote our sister marketing consultancy RTM Group to your members and the rights to sell classified and other banner advertising onto your website. In the case of the classifieds we take the risk that the market exists and therefore we retain the income (to put this is perspective experience shows us the average sale value per classified is only £30). When we sell a banner advertisement the club receives £200 as long as we sell the advertisement for our reserve price - this will vary from club to club.
The Sponsorship Report
Our new guide to increasing sponsorship sales, for grassroots clubs retails for £199 and has been written in response to the huge demand for help from clubs. Our business began at Sevenoaks RFC where we added over £20,000 to the club in 8 months. If you buy the report and follow the action points you should expect to recoup your investment many times over.
Club Consultancy
Some clubs have asked us to help them overhaul their commercial strategy, looking at everything from sponsorship offers to social events and from sports matching to negotiating with bar suppliers. Whilst the Sponsorship Report covers these issues generically the Consultancy Programme looks in depth at your club and the issues that are unique to it. For this programme we charge £500 (plus expenses) for a full day site visit and meeting and a detailed report with recommendations.
